Ten members of Rescue 14 along with volunteers from other local squads recently met at Virginia Beach General for dinner and a lecture on Prehospital Care Issues. Dr. Richard West SVBGH Trauma Services Medical Director, reviewed the criteria for calling Alpha and Bravo Trauma Alerts. Dr. N. Turner Gray, Medical Examiner, reviewed the role of the Medical Examiner and the M.E.'s working relationship with EMS. Dr Gray also serves as the co-chairman of the Advisory Officers to Rescue 14. Rescue Rounds is a monthly educational program open to all Virginia Beach EMS Personnel and is sponsored by Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Dinner is provided by the hospital and is followed by a lecture on EMS issues. Continuing education credits are awarded to those attending. We wish to thank Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and the Training Division of the Virginia Beach Department of EMS for supporting the EMS volunteers and providing a great dinner and lecture.
