TEMS picnic and zoo visit on Saturday September 10th.
Summer and Judy set up the unit to be kid friendly. Children got to learn about
helping people to breathe with a BVM. They learned about controlling Bleeding and got to split the arms and legs of Rescue Randy. One time during the event,
they had about 20 children in the unit. They were none stop. On the back of the unit,
they displayed some rescue 14 photos and child summer safe papers for the parents to read while
they had their children working in the unit. One of the children In the photos was a young lady from Iraq. She was in the middle of going through the program "Project Smile". She was so interested in learning about the process of Rescue. She did not want to leave the unit.
They extended a visit to her and her temporary American family to the station when she was up for it.
Gary and Linda Hoffman were their with children and grand children. Gary Hoffman was nominated for TEMS EMS provider of the year. He and his family wait to hear the
news as were the rest of the gang from the squad. Also up for an award
was our very own Jack Dye. Jack Dye helps with this even each
year. Jack attended with his wife Debbie.
Doris Foster and her
Family along with nursing students, set up a Children's tent each year with games and lots of prizes.
They do this to help with the education of safety and learning about the 911 system.
While
waiting for all the fun to start, Summer and Judy played the Bungee. I think
they were the only brave soles to give it a try. Judy was so sore the next day.
Hope to see more of you there next year. FREE BEER
