Home   The ALS Competition Challenge consisted of a written Paramedic exam, trauma scenario one involved multiple trauma victims at a horse stable of which 2 went into cardiac arrest [real horses were part of the scene]. Scenario two took place at a camp ground and involved medical and trauma victims with airway problems.

VIRGINIA BEACH RESCUE 14 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

On August 30th ten volunteers from Rescue 14 traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Fla to attend the 21st International Rescue Emergency Care and Extrication Conference.

Career and Volunteer Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics from the United States, Canada, South Africa, Sweden, Germany, Turkey, and the Saint Croix U.S. Virgin Islands were in attendance for the 4 day conference.

Many of the participants attended medical and rescue seminars as well as fielding teams in categories such as Vehicle Extrication & Rescue, High Rise Rescue, Basic Life Support Care and Advanced Life Support Care.

The Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad fielded competition teams in the Basic Life Support Category and the Advance Life Support Category.

Rescue 14 BLS Team Captain by Jack Dye, along with rescue squad members, Ann Morse, Judy Jackson and alternate Summer Pruette placed first in the Basic Life Support International Category.

Rescue 14 ALS Team Captain by Ann Morse, along with rescue squad members Judy Jackson, Summer Pruette and alternate Bobby Hill won the Advanced Life Support "Rocco Morando Spirit of Competition Award".

Also in attendance from Virginia Beach were volunteers Barbara Moore, Jack Caviness, Amanda Lee, Gary and Linda Hoffman.
