Volunteer
Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach participate in Virginia Beach
History Fest
On April 28th
Rescue 14 along with many other city squads participated in the 400
Year Anniversary of the first landing of the Jamestown settlers. The
oceanfront Boardwalk was filled with displays representing the rich
history of many city departments and private groups.
Under heavy
foggy conditions the volunteer squads positioned emergency vehicles
and display tables along a two block area of the Boardwalk. Tourist
and local residents viewed 60 years of Virginia Beach-Princess Anne
County Rescue/Fire service.
Rescue 14's
1970 vintage Cadillac ambulance and Rescue 16's 2007 Horton
ambulance were on display and open for inspection.
The
Volunteer's new Recruitment Trailer was setup and staffed.
Volunteers
from eight of the ten squads were on hand to tell people of the
proud history of our service.
Rescue 14's R-R
Team provided free black eyes to kids and adults alike. People were
waiting up to an hour in line for a free black eye.
