Future of Virginia Beach Rescue Squad 14

Our Future

The future of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad is a bright one. With ongoing recruitment and retention efforts, we are striving to begin staffing a second day-time ambulance just as we have been doing during the evening for over ten years at our substation (Rescue-8) in the Hilltop/Great Neck area.

Our Associate and Administrative members are becoming the business professionals we envisioned, which allows our Operational members the ability to concentrate on their services. Plans are being made to "train our own trainers" and relationships with formal educational institutes are being strengthened for the future of our providers training requirements as well as certifying new volunteers/members.

Our Vision is a long-term commitment to the citizens and visitors of our city and our Mission is consistent with that Vision. Our planning takes us into a new millennium with our neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances who support us, care for us and provide us with the reasons that we "do what we do…" every day of the year. We look forward to yet another decade of providing our Professional, Caring and Voluntary Emergency Medical Services to each of our residents, visitors and neighboring cities (through mutual aide) when called upon.
