Driver's Side
"Squad 14" is a Saulsbury/Spartan Heavy Duty
Rescue Squad, placed in service in May 2000. The unit is powered by a 430 HP,
series 60 Detroit Diesel with an Allison 6040, 5 speed automatic transmission.
Seating for eight in the enclosed cab is provided for the members' safety. An
extensive radio system includes 800 MHz, UHF, VHF, CB, Cellular phone and a
Laptop computer.

Driver's Side, Cab
There are VHF, UHF, 800mgz, and CB radios.
There is a laptop for Mobile Data Terminal messaging with Dispatch, and other
Virginia Beach units.

The Crew Compartment
Pre-rigged SCBA for four.
Holds all the BLS and ALS EMS gear to include IV and Drug supplies.

Driver's Side, Compartment #1
This compartment holds various equipment which includes:
A small refrigerator for hydration supplies.
A five gallon bucket of oil dry.
An Arcair cutting torch.
A Supervac Smoke Ejector fan.
Two Oxygen bottles.
Three extinguishers, (AFFF, CO2, and ABC).
6 Circle D lamps.
5 SCBA bottles for use with Airbags and Air Tools.

Driver's Side, Compartment #2
This compartment has 2 empty shelves which currently hold
members PPE, but are open for future tools and growth.
The top shelf has a STIHL gas operated chain saw and Gas operated circular
saw, (k12).
An electric chain saw and various blades.

Driver's Side, Compartment #3
This compartment holds a full complement of hand tools to
include: sockets, wrench's, air tools, carpenters tools, etc.
There is two Dewalt 18volt cordless reciprocating saws and one Makita corded
reciprocating saw.
There is one 18volt Dewalt Drill/Driver and four 18volt Dewalt Batteries and
Chargers.
There is 200 feet of Air Line and Electrical line on electric reels.

Driver's Side, Compartment #4
This compartment holds the Hurst Tools and Pumps.
There are four electric Hurst Pumps with each having 150 feet of Hydraulic
Hose on electric reels.
Two 32b Hurst Spreaders, 2 Hurst Extractor Cutters.
There are two 30 Rams, two 60 Rams and one 20 Ram.
There are two Ram attachment kits and different Spreader tips.
There is also one pre-connected Hurst Manifold Block.
There is a ZMAG roof roll back bar and ZMAG edge protectors.
The compartment also houses a TarHeel Tool.

Rear Compartment
This compartment holds various equipment which includes:
Various length Pike Poles.
A large M O2 Tank.
Two each of 4', 6', 8' 4x4's, which are part of the Tensioned Buttress
Stabilization Set-Up.
An Extension, A-Frame and Roof Ladder.
EMS equipment to include: Backboards, KED's, Hare Traction Splints, Burn
Kits, Trauma Kits, etc.
Stokes Basket.

Officer's Side
"Squad 14" members meet several requirements
in order to become a part of the elite team that staffs this truck. All
members must be a member in good standing with the Virginia Beach Volunteer
Rescue Squad. All members must be at least an EMT-B. Additional
requirement are: Hazmat Awareness, SCBA training, Vehicle Extrication,
Rope Rescue, Mass Casualty Incident Management-Two and training in response to
Weapons of Mass Destruction.
